I was feeling cool and collected about grade one until I realized that it’s the start of the firefighter’s full-time school career, which now won’t end until he graduates from college or university. And then I looked at the photos and wondered who the heck the tall, confident, kid in front of my camera was.
Sniff.

Whoa–sassy face on that last one. He looks quite able to handle whatever school has to throw at him. Not that that’s comforting…
lol he has been a mama’s boy from day one and the transitions to preschool and then JK and finally SK were not easy ones (although it got a little easier by SK). The confident, lanky boy who started Grade 1 today has grown & changed so much from the timid wee toddler I still hold near to my heart. It used to drive me nuts when other parents said “enjoy it…it goes by too fast!” but now I’m that parent
These are gorgeous! And I love the way you did the collage. I didn’t get to comment yesterday…but that card from his teacher was amazing! The little girl my daughter nannies for got a card from her teacher today ~ I sent her your blog yesterday cause I loved it so much…..and today’s card didn’t measure up to what your little boy got…but meant so much! She (my daughter) might send you an email (she just started a blog on wordpress…and has some questions!) Her name’s Melissa and her blog is melissaroseblog.com, so if you get an email…you’ll know she’s “mine”!
Thanks Adrienne
I think this is as far as I’ll get with digital scrapbooking! Although I did make two pretty impressive photo books (on http://www.blurb.com) that are full of collages: one of my pregnancy and one of the first six months of 2012.
I’d be happy to hear from your DD…I’ll keep my eyes on my inbox
I think it is great that you do this. What a wonderful memory. Wish there was something like this when we were little.
He is so grown up! He is really starting to look like Jeremy!
He is handsome like his dad
