This post will be anything but organized.
It’s Fall and so I find myself knee-deep in shorts, t-shirts, mitts, bathing suits, coats, jeans, and a plethora of other kid related items. The firefighter’s too small clothes get put in a box for the monkey, the monkey’s too small clothes get packed into a box for a friends son, the baby duck’s too small clothes get distributed into return / consign / donate boxes. There are boxes, boxes, everywhere!
I spent an entire morning photgraphing items to list on www.kijiji.ca and was then reminded why I loathe selling things via any online marketplace.
‘can u plz call me abt this item’ No. That’s why my email address is listed. Email me your questions. And please use capital letters.
‘I’ll send a money order and then collect the extra cash when I pick it up’. Yes of course because that doesn’t sound fishy and suspicious at all.
‘will you sell for $30 instead of $50 and deliver it to the opposite end of the city’ Hell no. Pay full price and pick it up yourself.
I don’t have the patience for this.
We sold the swing that’s been used by two of our babies and the babies of several friends (insert nostalgic sniff here)

It was replaced by this bright and cheerful second-hand beauty.

Swing #1 was battery operated. Swing #2 plugs in. We have just saved ourselves $10 a week in batteries because baby duck will only sleep on me or in the swing.
Please go ahead and tell me he’s spoiled. Did I mention he’s been sleeping 9 hours a night in his bassinet in our room? Yes, yes, still spoiled.
While sorting through the boys closet I turned around to see this little face.

Already he’s mastered the ‘dude what the heck are you doing?!?’ face (a necessity when you’re the monkey’s brother).
The monkey was climbing along the edge on the outside of the bunk beds.
Everyone survived and I even managed to finish sorting their closet. I managed this feat because the boys were distracted for another 15 minutes by this:
Baby duck was their patient and they were the medics.
Thankfully everyone was entertained by the bandage wrapping process.
Wish me kijiji-selling luck. And send extra bandages.

i have stuff to sell on Kijiji and I have the same fears. I hate the pickups the most. But then I like the moolah. I am about to list a Keurig if you know anyone who wants it.
It’s such a headache. It’s why I usually end up taking it to consignment.
Tell me that is someone else’s baby in the photos above!! Because he is just SO grown. I keep thinking he’s still a lil tiny itty bitty thing.
Good Luck with Kijiji!
I know…it’s ridiculous isn’t it? He’s growing so so so fast!
Love the expressions, and the bandaging! {and I’m better at buying on line than selling…hmmm…}
I’m with you: buying online is way more fun!
Gah! The cuteness! My ovaries hurt now.
You are welcome to squeeze him any time. He’s lovely and squishy a great workout for your biceps all in one convenient package.
